UPDATE 8th SEPTEMBER 2025
St John’s Street has now been re-opened to traffic so you should be able to access Callow Top as usual with no need for diversion.

There are currently roadworks taking place in Ashbourne town centre and the signage that the contractors have put up is very confusing. The A515 is partly closed in the middle of town but it’s still possible to get to us easily.

If you’re coming from the Derby, Burton, Leek, Stoke, Uttoxeter etc direction please ignore the signs that say ‘No through road to A515 North‘.

Instead, continue until you get to the traffic lights at the junction between the A515 and Park Road. Turn left and drive along Park Road. (As you drive up you’ll see Shawcroft car park on your left hand side). At the bend in Park Road turn left onto Hall Lane (sign says ‘Road Closed Access Only’ but still go up there). Turn left again onto The Green Road and then right onto the hill (A515). Follow that road and, as you drop down the hill coming out of town, we’re on the left hand side. Look our for the big green signs and the flagpoles at our entrance.

Click here to be taken to the route on Google Maps.

There can be a build up of traffic but there’s usually only a delay at school drop off/pick up times and around 5pm.

Please don’t follow the diversion signs or you will be taken on a ridiculously long, and needless, diversion!

On your way home you can go down the hill in Ashbourne as usual so there’s no need for an alternative route.

If you’re coming from the North (eg Buxton, Stockport, Manchester direction) on the A515 you won’t be affected. Please ignore any diversion signs, or your Sat Nav trying to take you on a diversion. Stay on the A515, there’s absolutely no need to go any other way.

These directions are suitable for all vehicles; cars, caravans, motorhomes, campervans of all sizes.
