If you like to get out and about you’ll be spoilt for choice here. There’s just so much to do in Derbyshire & Staffordshire. If you need somewhere to stay while you enjoy your adventure our camping, touring & self catering accommodation makes the perfect base.

Cycling
We have direct access to the Tissington Trail cycle route from Callow Top Campsite. There are lots more cycle trails and national cycle routes to follow in the surrounding area.

Walking
The Peak District is renowned as an area of natural beauty and is perfect for exploring on foot. There are a number of footpaths leading from the site, you can take a short 20-minute stroll into Ashbourne, or a longer walk such as the 2-hour route to Dovedale.

Climbing
There’s a huge variety of climbing for all abilities in the Peak District and surrounding areas. Lots of local companies can arrange tuition for you.

Water Sports
Rapid Horizons provide award-winning adventure experiences in kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, river tubing and paddleboarding in nearby Matlock Bath.

Sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking & canoeing are available at Carsington Water which is just 15 minutes drive away. Pre-booking is highly recommended, particularly in Peak Season. If you wish to use your own kayak/canoe/paddleboard you must pay a launch fee and also have insurance.

Canoe, kayak hire and paddle boarding are available at Tittesworth Water about 30 mins drive away.

Peak District Outdoor Adventures
Blue Mountain Activities can tailor make a day of outdoor adventures for your family. Choose from activities including abseiling, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, raft building, treasure hunts and lots more.

Peaks and Paddles offer outdoor adventure activities including canoeing, caving, climbing, abseiling & orienteering for the day or half day. Trips can be tailored to suit all ages and abilities. Families very welcome.

Horse Riding
Lessons and trekking are available from Matlock Farm Park from 4 yrs old and upwards.

Wild Park
Highly recommended for a fun filled day out in the Derbyshire coutryside. The staff are brilliant and it’s great for all ages. Paintballing, Quad biking, Laser Tag & Archery. 15 mins drive from Callow Top.

Tree Top Adventure
Climb through the trees high up in the canopy. Cargo nets and zip wires complete your adventure. Suitable for age 10+

Flying
For an experience to remember Airways Airsports offer taster sessions in paragliding, hang gliding, paramotor & microlight flights.
