Busy large campsite.
Good for families.
Has an outside pool, no need to book for this which made it busy in hot weather.
Has a large pub and playground.

Few days camping, beautiful location.  Camping fields are very spacious, the pitches are more than generous.  Electricity is unavailable on grass pitches but if thats not an essential then its perfect.  Its a very well maintained site, very friendly staff too.
The pizzas on the menu at the resident pub are not to our taste but reasonably priced. Not a great choice food wise but luckily we had stocked up on essentials.
The pool is busy at all times which is understandable being in school holidays.  The games room is a nice touch however many unsupervised children can make it uncomfortable.  Decent sized play area and strict rules in place to keep the noise levels low.
However with that said,  the rules on no fires or charcoal barbecues are not being adhered to.

This is very Nice Caravan and Camping Holiday Park . I only wish a Visit from the Owners / Workers on site after some really Bad Storms , to see if we were OK or that we Needed Anything to make our stay Comfortable with our Stay at Callow Top Caravan Park. Apart from the Storms the site is great .

Callow Tops FAQ's

When is Callow Top open?

Our camping and touring site and our self-catering cottages and apartments are open seasonally, with 2026 dates running from 27th March to 8th November.

The easiest way is to book online, where you’ll see live availability and the best direct rates. You can also call our reception team on 01335 344020, open 9am to 5pm Saturday to Thursday and 9am to 8pm on Fridays. If you’d like pitches together, a specific area, or an awning annex, please book by phone.

Yes, well-behaved dogs are very welcome on our touring and camping pitches, as long as they’re kept on a lead around the site. Dogs are welcome in reception, the Callow Inn and Arnold’s Games Room, but not in the shop, children’s play area, games field, fishing lake, swimming pool areas or any self-catering accommodation. We can’t accept any breed listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

We’re sorry, but day and evening visitors to guests staying on site aren’t permitted. Because of our central location we were being overwhelmed with day visitors, which meant paying guests couldn’t enjoy the facilities. To keep things fair for everyone we can’t make exceptions, so please bear this in mind before you book.

Yes, our outdoor swimming and paddling pools are heated. They’re open from 1st May to 27th September 2026. There’s no extra charge to use the pool and you don’t need to book a slot.

We don’t have site-wide WiFi, but there are free WiFi hotspots in Arnold’s Games Room and the Callow Inn where you can get online.

No, there’s no organised entertainment. Callow Top is a quiet family park, so during low season and midweek we’re perfectly peaceful, while in peak season we’re a busy, friendly site with lots of families and children staying.

Alton Towers is only around 20 minutes’ drive away, making us an ideal base for a theme park trip. The market town of Ashbourne is about a 20 minute walk along the Tissington Trail.

Yes, we have 4 EV charging points offering up to 22kw. Simply scan the QR code on the bollard with your phone and pay online. Please note that charging an electric car from a caravan electric hook-up point is strictly prohibited.
