BBC Radio Derby July 2023
Jack Tyman, from the BBC Radio Derby Breakfast Show, visited Callow Top today to talk about the latest Visit England survey figures, which show the number of people planning an overnight stay in the UK is up on last year. He spoke to Eli Taylor, our Marketing Manager, and also chatted to guests staying on site about why they think 1 in 20 people surveyed are planning to visit the Peak District.
The most frequent reply was that people find it easier to plan a holiday in the UK. With just a short journey time, and no queuing or hassle at airports, a UK staycation is certainly a popular choice, particularly for families with young children.
Guests choose the Peak District for their stay because of the huge array of things to do during their break. From walking and cycling, to exploring picturesque towns and villages, visiting attractions, such as Alton Towers and the Heights of Abraham or cultural visits to stately homes such as Chatsworth, there’s something for everyone!
