Public Transport

You might not want to use your car while you’re staying with us, especially if you have a motorhome or campervan, so here’s some info about local public transport…

Our nearest bus stop is in Ashbourne. You can walk from the site along the Tissington Trail, it takes about 25 minutes. Services from there include:
Ashbourne – Matlock 110/11 timetable (calls at Carsington Water Visitor Centre)
connecting services to Bakewell, via the 172 or TransPeak, & Chatsworth from Matlock

Ashbourne – Buxton 442 timetable (calls at Tissington & Hartington)
This service goes past the end of our drive on the main road and can be flagged down

Ashbourne – Derby Swift timetable (Also goes Ashbourne – Uttoxeter)
(Our nearest train stations are Derby & Uttoxeter)

Ashbourne – Alton Towers X52 timetable
This service only operates Monday to Friday and there is only one service a day. Some Wednesdays are excluded. Please see the Notts + Derby website for further info.

The service is wheelchair friendly and you can also take bikes, buggies and dogs. You’ll need to book in advance. Download a map of the area covered and booking info here

Moorlands Connect

They also offer a dial-a-ride service. A journey can be booked to and from any point in the operating area (roughly between Ashbourne, Leek and Buxton). The buses are wheelchair friendly and will take bikes, buggies and dogs. You’ll need to book in advance for this service.
