Mid-week Breaks

Get away from it all by taking a mid-week break at Callow Top. Bring your own tent, caravan or motorhome or stay in our self catering accommodation on site.

During May, June, September & October midweek short breaks are ideal for adults, or families with pre-school children, who prefer a quieter getaway to the more busy weekends. 4 night mid-week breaks start from £325 in our self catering accommodation and from £47.00 for a hardstanding pitch with hook-up, 1 car and 2 people.

Relax and unwind in the beautiful surroundings of the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Peak District. Walk or cycle directly from the site. Spend a day by the fishing lake or venture further afield and visit one of the many local attractions. Here’s a few suggestions but there’s many more…….

Chatsworth House, Gardens, Farmyard & Adventure Play Area
Take a tour of the house, walk your dog in the gardens or take your toddlers to the farmyard & brilliant play area.

Trentham Gardens & Monkey Forest
Take a stroll around the lake in these beautiful gardens or visit Monkey Forest where you can walk amongst the Barbary monkeys who live there in total freedom. There’s an adventure play area for the young (or young at heart!)

Visit Bakewell or Buxton
Two lovely nearby towns with lots of shops and cafes. Pick up a Bakewell tart, walk along the river and feed the ducks or spend an afternoon in the park.

Cycle to Tissington
Hire a bike from our cycle hire (trailers and baby seats are available for little ones) and cycle along the Tissington Trail, directly from the site, to Tissington Village. Why not enjoy afternoon tea at the tearooms?

Visit a Well Dressing
Well Dressing is an ancient Derbyshire custom. Villages decorate their wells with ‘pictures’ made from flower petals & other natural materials set in clay.

Cross the Stepping Stones at Dovedale
Escape the crowds of peak season and spend an afternoon following the River Dove through the dramatic beauty of Dovedale.

Visit Alton Towers
Beat the queues and visit this popular theme park during low season when you’ll be able to get on all the rides with ease.
