Cromford Canal Narrowboat Trips Wednesday, Saturdays & Sundays
Take a trip along the canal on the narrowboat ‘Birdswood’. Horse drawn trips are available on selected dates. Additional Thursday trips during June, July & August.
Free Guided Walks in Ilam Country Park
Every Monday & Friday at 11am. Meet at the visitor centre and join the walk leaders for a 2 hour walk on Mondays or choose from a 1hr, 2hr or 3hr walk on Fridays. Dogs welcome.
Lea Rhododendron Gardens
A hidden gem in Derbyshire. The best time to visit is late April & during May to enjoy the rainbow of blooms at their best. There’s also plant sales and a tea room with lovely homemade cakes.

Bag yourself a bargain at this boot sale which takes place at Uttoxeter Racecourse. From 6am.
Tansley Market & Car Boot Sale Saturdays & Sundays
Visit this mammoth car boot sale set in fields overlooking the stunning Derbyshire countryside. Saturdays 12 noon – 5pm. Sundays 7am – 4pm
Bakewell Food Festival 29th & 30th April
Returning for it’s 6th year, you’ll find Bakewell’s streets hosting splendid offerings of food celebrating the excellent local produce of the Peak District. There’s also a multi-award winning farmer’s market in the agricultural centre. Great British Bake Off star Howard Middleton will be demonstrating his cookery and baking skills all day on the Sunday. The festival also includes a tasting trail, road shows, craft & gift fairs, children’s rides, owls, ponies & donkeys.
Tissington Well Dressings 25th – 31st May
The wells in the village are decorated with pictures handmade with natural materials such as flowers, moss & twigs. A beautiful Derbyshire tradition.
RHS Chatsworth Flower Show 7th – 11th June
A new show from the RHS in the stunning Chatsworth Park. A show that will break boundries and blends tradition with unexpected, innovative design. Floral and garden displays, artisan kitchen theatre, rural crafts and trade exhibitors.

Ashbourne Streetfest 16th & 17th June
A great event that lots of our guests return to year after year. The streets of Ashbourne are filled with international street performers. Comedy, dance, magic, kid’s entertainers, acrobats; there’s something very everyone with a great atmosphere.
Eroica Britannia Festival 16th – 18th June
A 3 day family festival in the heart of the Peak District, just 15 mins drive from Callow Top. Celebrating music, glorious vintage, shopping, food, drink & cycling. There’s also ‘The World’s Most Handsome Bike Ride’ . There’s 3 distances to choose from and you must ride a road racing bike built pre 1987.
Ashbourne Show 19th August
A traditional country and agricultural show with something for the whole family. Animal displays, equestrian events, trade stands, craft tent, food hall and much more.
Chatsworth Country Fair 1st – 3rd September
One of the largest agricultural and country shows in the country. Animal displays, traditional children’s rides, craft tent, huge food area with cookery theatre, grand ring with events and displays throughout the day, trade stands and lots, lots more.

Dovedale Dash 5th November
A cross country race, run by well over a thousand people, through the village of Thorpe & Dovedale. Watch the runners splash the the River Dove across the famous stepping stones (or take part yourself!)
