Haywood Farm

This farm was purchased by our family in 1995. You will have driven through it already if you have visited Callow Top.

We are developing the farm in a very environmentally friendly way. Since the purchase of the farm we have managed it by ‘traditional’ methods. We have not applied any artificial fertilisers, pesticides or fungicides.

We were recently awarded the David Bellamy Silver Award for conservation which is judged for enviromental excellence.

Fishing & Wildlife

Having adopted a management policy that favours the diversity and abundance of wildlife species at Callow Top since 1975, it is of no surprise that many species that have suffered, on a national scale through modern farming methods, have actually increased in abundance at Callow Top.

We are now in a similar process of habitat management and creation at Haywood Farm. We have now completed a ‘Wildlife Park’ adjacent to the Bently Brook within which is a 1 acre course fishing pond and a smaller pond for wildlife.

We are negotiating with the Local Planning Authorities for another fishing lake adjacent to the existing one. We hope to have this constructed for next season.
