When is Callow Top open?
Our self-catering accommodation is open all year.
2024 Opening dates for our camping & touring site are 22nd March – 10th November.

How do I book?

Are dogs allowed on the camping & touring site?
Yes, as long as they are kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are welcome in reception, the Callow Inn and Arnold’s Games Room but sorry, pets are are not permitted inside the shop, children’s play area, games field, fishing lake or swimming pool areas.

Can my friends/family visit me while I’m staying with you?
No, we’re very sorry but day/evening visitors to guests staying on site are not permitted.

Why is that?
Due to our central location we were being deluged with day visitors. This meant that guests who had paid to stay with us were unable to use and enjoy our facilities.

We realise that some guests may have good reasons for wanting visitors (e.g. birthdays or family living close by) but to make things fair for everyone we are unable to make any exceptions. Please bear this in mind before you book.

When can I check in and what time do I need to leave?
Pitches are available from 12 noon on your arrival day. Latest arrival time is 8pm.
Check-out time on your departure day is 11am. We’re sorry but late stays aren’t available during school holidays/peak season.
Dovedale Cottage & Ashbourne Cottage have a check-in time of 3pm and a check-out time of 11am.
Hartington & Okeover Apartments has a check-in time of 2pm and a check-out time of 10am.

Do you have seasonal pitches?
No, we don’t have Summer seasonal pitches. We do have annual tourer pitches but we only have 6 and they rarely become available. We also have Winter Seasonal pitches.

Do you have hardstanding pitches?
Yes, all but one of our pitches with hook-up are hardstanding.

Do you have electric hook-up facilities for tents?
We only have a single grass pitch with hook-up on site. All our other electric pitches are hardstanding. This means that availability on the one grass pitch is usually very limited.

What amp is your electric hook-up?
Most of our pitches are 16amp but some are 10amp.

Can trailer tents pitch on the hardstanding?
Although it is possible to peg down into the hardstanding, using heavy duty pegs, we are aware that this is not suitable for all trailer tent owners. It is a matter of personal preference.
