Update 23rd February 2021
Following the Government announcement on 22nd February we are currently working through what this means for the coming season.

If we are able to open on 12th April, and this is unclear at the moment, it will be for caravans/motorhomes using their own facilities and self catering accommodation only. We will not be able to accept tents. This is due to the fact that shared facilities (toilet/shower blocks) cannot be used.

Please bear with us while we wait for further clarification of the guidance. As you can imagine our phone lines are extremely busy at the moment and we only have a small team available to answer your calls.

If you have a booking with us to arrive before 12th April then you should have received an email. If you have a booking to arrive between 12th April and 16th May then please wait for us to contact you when things are a little clearer.

We will update you with further information as soon as we can.

Just a quick update to say that we are not expecting any of our facilities, except the fishing lake, to be open for the 2020 season despite any further Government announcements. You can have a look at further information about facilities here

Here at Callow Top we are busy planning for the re-opening of our site. Whilst we do this the safety of our family, staff members and guests is paramount.

We look forward to being able to welcome some of you back this Summer. However, the site will not be running as it usually would.

We are opening the site on Monday 6th July. From this date we will be accepting touring caravans, motor homes and stays in our self-catering accommodation.

Unfortunately, due to social distancing restrictions and safety considerations, we have made the difficult decision to keep all of the facilities at Callow Top closed. This includes toilets & showers, pot washing and laundry rooms, the swimming pool, Arnold’s Cafe Bar, The Callow Inn, Callow Top Shop, the play area, the arcade and cycle hire.

The reception will be open, running on limited hours (more information to follow), for check-ins, gas bottle exchange and essentials such as bread, milk, eggs and newspapers Fishing tickets will also be available as the lake will remain open for use by those staying with us on site.

As there will be no toilets and showers available, and to limit the number of guests staying on site, we’re very sorry to say that we will be unable to accept any camping bookings for the remainder of the 2020 season.

This also means that all touring caravans and motorhomes are required to be entirely self sufficient. There will be access to water taps and a waste disposal point, but no toilets or showers. If your caravan/motor home does not have a toilet we will be unable to accept your booking.

Pitches will be charged at a lower rate than usual throughout the Summer holidays.

We have emailed everyone who has an existing booking with us for the remainder of 2020. If you have not received an email please get in touch with us via enquiries@callowtop.co.uk or by messaging us through Facebook. Please do bear with us as a skeleton staff are dealing with a large amount of emails and we are expecting a significant amount in the coming days. We will respond to all emails and messages as quickly as we possible can.

Our phone lines will reopen for bookings and enquiries on Monday 22nd June at 10am. From then on lines will be open from 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday until further notice.

Any bookings made with us from now on will come with our Coronavirus Guarantee. This means that, if you have a booking with us but cannot come to us due to a Coronavirus related issue, you can change the dates of your stay, free of charge, for other dates in 2020/21*.

This applies if, due to Coronavirus:

  • The site is closed
  • The government places restriction on travel
  • You, or a member of your party, is unable to travel due to having Coronavirus or having to self-isolate.
* Please notify us of your request to change dates at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
If you have a booking which has already been cancelled, you are still welcome to change the dates of your stay to a time we’re able to accommodate you.
We must all bear in mind that things are constantly changing and, if lockdown measures are tightened again further down the line, we may have to cancel your booking.
Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation and we look forward to seeing you all when possible.
Stay safe,
All the team at Callow Top

Coronavirus COVID-19
Following updated government advice on 16th March we have sadly decided that we won’t be opening for the 2020 season on March 27th as planned. The health of our guests and staff is of the utmost importance and, given the worsening situation, we don’t feel that it is appropriate to put everyone at more risk than is necessary.

Initially we intend to be closed until the end of April although this may have to change depending on what happens between now and then.

Everyone with stays booked this year will be very welcome to transfer your booking to different dates if you’d like to. We don’t need to know the dates you’d like to re-book for straight away, we’ll gladly hold your deposit safe until you’ve decided. To start with we will contact everyone who has booked stays between 27th March and the end of April. Phone lines will be open but please be patient if you are unable to get through as we are expecting a higher volume of calls than usual. You can also contact us by email at enquiries@callowtop.co.uk

To give priority to guests who would like to change the dates of their booking we are not taking any further new bookings for any time this year at the moment. Please keep an eye on our social media and website for up to date information as things progress.

We’d like to thank everyone very much for your continued support and hope we’ll be able to welcome you all back to Callow Top very soon.
